Khabarovsk authorities summed up the results of the navigation season
The navigation season is coming to an end in Khabarovsk. In 2025, the ships will make their last voyages on October 31.
According to IA AmurMedia with reference to the press service of the city administration, this year more than 65 thousand citizens used suburban river transportation.
The season passed without failures, river trams transported 7% more Khabarovsk residents than in the same period last year, Khabarovsk Mayor Sergey Kravchuk said. About 68 million rubles were allocated from the local budget for the organization of transportation.
A large passenger traffic is expected over the coming weekend: people plan to take advantage of the good weather, take out the remains of the harvest and prepare the cottages for winter.
Transportation is organized by Amur Passenger Transportation CJSC. Four ships operate on three routes. One of them is a backup. Soon, all the ships will be towed to the EW Fleet's backwater for winter sludge. In March 2026, the fleet will begin to prepare for navigation.
On the islands of Kabelny and Bolshoy Ussuriysky, mobile search and rescue teams and firefighters took up seasonal duty. During this period, fires often occur due to the carelessness of vacationers. The situation is complicated by strong gusty winds, an abundance of dry grass and a lack of rain.
In early October, the Kamchatka Territory set the deadline for the closure of navigation for small vessels. Since October 18, access to water has been prohibited in the Olyutorsky, Penzhinsky and Karaginsky districts. From November 1, navigation will be completed in Vilyuchinsk, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Yelizovsky, Bystrinsky, Sobolevsky, Milkovsky, Ust-Bolsheretsky, Tigilsky, Ust-Kamchatsky districts.
