An investigation is underway in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Yugra into an accident involving a passenger bus, as a result of which two people were killed and nine injured. This is reported by the district SU of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
The accident occurred on Wednesday morning, October 22, on the 867th km of the federal highway R-404 Tyumen – Khanty-Mansiysk. It was previously established that the 33-year-old driver of the Yutong bus, in which there were 16 passengers, lost control. The car flew into a ditch and overturned.
As a result of the accident, two people died on the spot, nine more people were injured. According to the government of Ugra in its Telegram channel, the victims were taken to the district clinical hospital in Khanty-Mansiysk.
The Investigative Committee began an investigation on the grounds of a crime under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Provision of services that do not meet security requirements." Based on its results, a decision will be made to initiate a criminal case.
The Khanty-Mansiysk Interdistrict Prosecutor's Office is also conducting its audit. The department's staff will assess the carrier's compliance with licensing requirements, as well as check exactly how the organization responsible for the condition of the road section performed its duties, writes <url> news agency.
An investigative team, employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate and the Ministry of Emergency Situations worked at the scene of the accident. All the circumstances of the fatal car crash are being established. The situation with the provision of assistance to the victims and the families of the victims is under the control of the Governor.
