Lithuania has resumed traffic across the border with Belarus

Lithuania has resumed the passage of vehicles through two road checkpoints on the border with Belarus after the overnight closure. This was announced by the State Border Committee of Belarus.

"Traffic has resumed. Registration of vehicles by Lithuanian regulatory services is carried out both for entry and exit," the agency's Telegram channel says.

According to RIA Novosti, more than 1.5 thousand trucks are registered in the queue at the newly opened checkpoints. In addition, 40 cars and three buses were parked at the border.

On the same day, it was reported that Lithuania had closed traffic through two checkpoints on the border with Belarus. It was clarified that the checkpoint "Shalchininkai" (from the Belarusian side "Benyakoni") and from 5.00 through the checkpoint "Myadininkai" ("Stone Log") were closed. According to the Belarusian customs, more than 1,500 trucks are currently registered in the electronic queue for departure through these checkpoints. Only two of the six existing checkpoints remain open on the border between the two countries.
