In Transbaikalia, volunteers rescued a wild lynx that climbed a pole
In the village of Novokruchinisky in the Trans-Baikal Territory, NGO "Blagodar" volunteers rescued a wild lynx that swam across a river and climbed onto a pole. The volunteer organization announced this on October 21.
"Today, a wild lynx swam to our village, yes, you heard right, it swam, in the area of embankment Street, it swam across the Ingoda River and climbed a pole, after we found out about it, it was decided to contact the Ministry of Emergency Situations, they told us that they could not help us. Having been refused by the services, the Blagodar team decided to help the animal return to the forest," the volunteers said on their page on the VKontakte social network.
It is reported that the volunteers, together with the administration and the dog trapping service, which helped temporarily euthanize the lynx, carried out work to rescue the wildcat.
The power line was de-energized in advance. The lynx, which was sitting on a pole at a lower height than usual, was shot with sleeping pills from a distance, the animal fell into the grass, after which the volunteers managed to take it to the forest, where there were no fires, the information in the publication is specified.
"They left me sleeping it off. When we left, she was already waking up," the volunteers shared.
On November 11, 2024, the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Republic of Khakassia rescued a lynx, which the dogs had driven onto an electric support. It is assumed that the animal lived at someone's house, because it is not afraid of people. The agency stressed that a wild cat could not have gone down on its own.
