A suspect in the arson attack on a house in Novosibirsk was detained

A man suspected of setting fire to a multi-storey building in Novosibirsk was detained in the city of Tomsk. Four people died in the fire. This was announced on October 22 by the regional prosecutor's office.

"A man suspected of setting fire to an apartment building has been identified and detained. It turned out to be a 42-year-old previously convicted resident of Novosibirsk," the Telegram channel said.

It is specified that the suspect was taken to the investigative authorities for procedural actions. The department added that a preventive measure will be chosen for him in the near future.

A fire in a multi-storey building in Novosibirsk occurred on the night of October 17-18. According to Konstantin Gavrin, deputy head of the Interior Ministry department for the region, four people died as a result of the incident. As noted in the city hall, 26 people were evacuated from the building, 17 residents were able to leave the building on their own.
