In North Korea, students of the school at the Russian embassy launched paper lanterns in memory of the soldiers of the Korean People's Army (KPA). This was reported on October 22 by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
Lanterns made by children from Kursk as a symbol of gratitude to the Korean soldiers for their help in liberating the city were launched along the Taedong River in Pyongyang.
The lanterns had inscriptions: "Thank you," "We will win," and "Eternal Friendship" in Russian and Korean to honor the memory of the heroes.
The event was also attended by the Extraordinary Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Russia to the DPRK, Alexander Matsegora, and other employees of the Russian Embassy.
Earlier, on October 17, it was reported that a delegation of Russian youth organizations had arrived in Pyongyang. It was noted that Moon Chol, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth Union of the DPRK, had a conversation with representatives of the Russian Federation.
