Calculations of multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) The Tornado-S of the North group of forces destroyed accumulations of military equipment and manpower of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the area of a special military operation in the Kharkiv direction. This was announced by the Russian Defense Ministry on October 22.
Russian troops continue their offensive, moving forward and pushing the enemy away from the border. The goal is to create a buffer zone to protect civilians in Russia's border regions. During these actions, artillery systems are used, including towed, self-propelled guns and MLRS. The main task of the Tornado-S calculations is to support assault groups, destroy enemy fortifications and concentrations.
Intelligence revealed the concentration of equipment, weapons and personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kharkov direction. The combat vehicle quickly took up a firing position. Thanks to the modern computer system and GLONASS satellite navigation, high impact accuracy is ensured. To increase efficiency and safety, the tactics of a single installation are used. This allows you to maneuver quickly and avoid return fire. Each missile caused damage to the enemy's manpower and equipment.
"The usual command arrived — they gave us a point where we needed to work out <...> We worked on two targets and destroyed them," said the head of the calculation of the Tornado—S MLRS combat vehicle with the call sign Mountain.
After the salvo, the crew quickly left the firing position in order to strike from a new location in a short time. Calculations never work twice from the same position and do not go to the same shelter. Artillery actions are critically important to support assault groups. Calculations use the surprise factor so that the enemy does not know where the strike will come from.
Accurate guidance is provided by calculations of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), which collect data and transmit it to the commanders of artillery batteries. The Tornado-S is reloaded in safe areas, after which the crews are moved to new firing positions to hit new targets.
On October 17, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that operators of FPV drones of the Southern Group of Forces destroyed two pickups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near the village of Konstantinovka. It was clarified that the enemy used vehicles to transport ammunition, manpower and materiel to their positions.
