The relatives of a Belarusian citizen who disappeared and died in Myanmar have confirmed the death of their daughter by sending a note in Burmese.
"[A girl] who worked in Myanmar in the village of Phlu died of a heart attack. The body was cremated in the village of Inkin on October 16 at 12:00," the newspaper quotes kp.ru the text of the note.
It is clarified that the true cause of the girl's death remains unknown at the moment.
The girl's disappearance became known on October 15. The mother of the disappeared woman reported that the connection with her daughter was cut off on October 4. Later it became known that the Belarusian was found dead. According to the Izvestia source, her death was of a criminal nature.
Ilya Ilyin, head of the consular department of the Russian Embassy in Thailand, reported on October 12 that fraudulent call centers operate in Myanmar, where they lure people into slavery. The next day, he clarified that there were several Russian citizens in these fraudulent centers.
