The Coordination Center for Assistance to the Gaza Strip and monitoring compliance with agreements between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas movement was opened by the US Armed Forces. This was announced on October 21 on the website of the American Central Command (CENTCOM).

"The US Central Command has opened a Civilian-Military Coordination Center (CMCC) in Israel. <...> The CMCC is designed to support efforts to stabilize (the situation in the region. — Ed.)," the text of the statement says.

It is noted that the staff of this center, numbering up to 200 people, under the leadership of Lieutenant General Patrick Frank, commander of the US Army Central Command (ARCENT), will facilitate the influx of humanitarian, logistical and security assistance from international partners to Gaza.

The Axios portal learned a day earlier that Washington intends to strengthen control over the observance of the ceasefire regime in the enclave. It was clarified that such a decision was made by the head of the White House, Donald Trump, against the background of an assessment of the situation in Gaza, which, as noted, continued to remain "shaky."
