As the US president noted, he would not like to waste time.
"I don't want to waste time, so we'll see what happens," he said during a conversation with reporters in the Oval Office of the White House.
Trump also noted that he would report on further steps regarding the summit in Hungary within two days.
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said on October 21 that the European Union (EU) states should do everything possible to ensure that the meeting between Putin and Trump was successful. He noted that, despite the lack of information about the exact date of the meeting, they are already trying to disrupt it.
On October 16, Trump announced a meeting with Putin in Hungary. He also called the telephone conversation between the presidents of the Russian Federation and the United States productive. Later, Trump expressed hope for the summit to be held within two weeks.
