American leader Donald Trump intends to demand compensation from the Ministry of Justice in the amount of $ 230 million for the federal prosecution against him. This was reported on October 21 by The New York Times (NYT), citing sources.

"President Trump is demanding that the Department of Justice pay him about $230 million in compensation," the publication says.

According to the publication, the situation surrounding the investigation into Trump has no analogues in the history of the United States. Trump has twice filed administrative complaints regarding violations of his rights, including during a search by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) at his Mar-a-Lago residence.

As specified in the publication, administrative complaints are not lawsuits and are initially considered by the Ministry of Justice itself with a view to a possible pre-trial settlement of the conflict. However, the participation of former members of the Trump team in the process casts doubt on the impartiality of the department and causes discussions in the legal community.

On April 23, a coalition of 12 American states filed lawsuits against the US presidential administration demanding that the duties imposed by it be lifted. It was clarified that the restrictions imposed by Trump have a negative impact on the country's economy.

Prior to that, on March 27, the head of the White House announced the need to review the country's judicial system, calling the courts in Washington and New York the most corrupt and radical.
