The International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) has decided not to allow Russian athletes to participate in international competitions. The relevant information was published on October 21 on the official website of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR).

"The Russian Ski Sports Association (ALVSR) expresses deep disappointment with today's decision of the Council of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) to further deprive Russian athletes of the right to compete in international competitions even as individual neutral athletes (AIN)," the statement said.

It is also noted that this decision continues a discriminatory policy that contradicts the principle of political neutrality. In addition, the FLGR will continue to use all available means to protect Russian skiers.

"The ALVSR remains committed to the principles of fairness, non—discrimination and equality in sports," the publication emphasizes.

Norwegian skier Johannes Klebo announced on October 11 that the return of Russian representatives to international tournaments would be good for the whole sport. In addition, he noted that the return of the Russians would make international tournaments tougher and more interesting.
