Rumors about the threat of collapse of Tutankhamun's tomb have been denied in Egypt.
The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has denied rumors about the threat of the collapse of Tutankhamun's tomb. The corresponding statement was published on October 21.
"Tutankhamun's tomb is in good condition and is not at risk of collapse," the ministry said in a press release on its Facebook page (the social network is banned in the Russian Federation and belongs to the Meta Corporation, which is recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation).
It is reported that the Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, Dr. Mohamed Ismail Khaled, confirms that the information that is being disseminated in foreign media is absolutely untrue, and the tomb is in good condition.
"The Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities explained that the Council regularly monitors the condition of the tomb together with the Getty Conservation Institute, the main partner of the project for the preservation and maintenance of Tutankhamun's tomb, as well as a number of international monument protection organizations," their publication follows.
Khaled added that recent studies have confirmed that the tomb has not been altered or deteriorated since its discovery in November 1922.
The Daily Mail newspaper reported on October 21 that Tutankhamun's tomb in Egypt is in danger of collapse due to cracks in stone blocks and high humidity. It is noted that archaeologists from Cairo University have discovered large cracks in the stone blocks of the pyramid, which can lead to the collapse of the burial. The fractures pass through the ceiling of the entrance and the burial chambers, allowing rainwater to enter and destroy the tomb elements.
