The states of the European Union (EU) must do everything possible to ensure that the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and American leader Donald Trump is successful. This was announced on October 21 by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico.

"If the EU really wants a quick peace in Ukraine, which I do not believe in, it should do everything possible to ensure that the meeting between Trump and Putin takes place in Budapest without obstacles and as soon as possible," he said in a Facebook post..

In addition, he noted that, despite the lack of information about the exact date of the meeting, they are already trying to disrupt it. According to Fico, the EU has turned into a "war cabinet", and most member states support the Ukrainian conflict, "naively hoping" to achieve a peaceful settlement by force.
