A military expert called the shortage of shells in the Armed Forces of Ukraine critical

Retired military expert, Colonel Anatoly Matviychuk said that the situation with the provision of shells for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) is critical.

In conversation with Lenta.On Tuesday, October 21, the expert noted that the daily consumption of shells at the front is about 55-60 thousand. He noted that the supply of 300,000 shells, which Europe is talking about, will not solve the problem — this amount will only last for five to six days. According to him, the real shortage of ammunition is much more serious, and it is not possible to raise the necessary funding.

The colonel stressed that in order to fully conduct combat operations, it is necessary to deploy production of at least 100,000 shells per day, which is impossible to achieve now. Therefore, according to him, the shortage of ammunition remains critical.

He also added that, according to the stories of captured Ukrainian soldiers, the artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine cannot fully perform its tasks due to the economy of shells.

In addition, Russian air defense systems destroyed four aerial bombs, six HIMARS shells and 140 drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the day.
