The President of Finland allowed the easing of anti-Russian sanctions
Europe may ease sanctions against Russia in the event of a cease-fire in Ukraine. This was announced on October 20 by Finnish President Alexander Stubb in an interview with The Times newspaper.
"If we start with a cease—fire, and then we start considering the sequence of sanctions as the price of Russia's cessation of hostilities and withdrawal of troops, then I see this as an opportunity," the Finnish leader said.
However, according to Stubb, European countries will not lift anti-Russian sanctions "at the snap of their fingers."
Earlier, on October 20, the US Senate announced the suspension of work on a bill on sanctions against the Russian Federation. It is specified that the discussions, which have been going on for several months, will stop at least until the meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin with American leader Donald Trump.
