Finnish President Alexander Stubb said in an interview with The Times on October 20 that Europe would achieve its rearmament goals within the next five years.

"I can't give you a date, but I'd say it's more of a five—year cycle than a ten-year one, and we're moving fast right now," he noted.

In addition, Stubb stressed that the United States continues to play a key role in ensuring Europe's collective security by providing a significant portion of defense capabilities.

Bloomberg reported on October 15 that the European Union (EU) plans to launch joint projects on drones and air defense in the coming months as part of an ambitious five-year rearmament plan. As part of a new initiative, the European Commission (EC) is proposing to review the military planning and procurement system.
