After the Louvre was robbed, many European museums, including those in the UK, were under threat. This was announced on October 21 by Christopher Marinello, an expert on the return of stolen works of art.

"If they've successfully robbed the Louvre, they can rob anything. Do you know how many museums there are in the UK?" he said in an interview with Sky News.

According to the expert, "gangs" are operating all over Europe, and not enough efforts are being made to stop them. Marinello added that it was "only a matter of time" before they attacked a major museum.

The article also emphasizes that the media is focused on the identity of the intruders who stole jewelry from the Louvre, but the press does not warn that this problem is not limited to Paris.

The expert noted that thieves hunt for gold "only to melt it down," and for diamonds — because of their value, while they do not "care about the integrity of works of art and cultural heritage."

In addition, Marinello called on the museum management to treat the threat with all rigor and set up protection systems for the exhibits. In his opinion, it is necessary to start building vaults for jewelry in cultural institutions, otherwise "they will be taken away, melted down and used."

The robbery at the Louvre took place on October 19th in the morning. Then several intruders broke windows in the main Paris museum and stole jewelry. On the same day, the stolen broken crown of Emperor Napoleon III's wife Eugenie was found near the Louvre after a robbery.

The French police later discovered the items used by the attackers during the robbery. It was clarified that two grinders, a gas burner, a container of gasoline, gloves, a walkie-talkie and a blanket were found at the crime scene.

The Reuters news agency reported on October 20 that the French authorities plan to review measures to protect cultural sites across the country and, if necessary, strengthen security measures after the theft of jewelry in the Louvre.
