A court in Novosibirsk found a former teacher guilty of committing sexual acts against a schoolgirl and sentenced him to 13 years in prison. The relevant information was published on the website of the Sovetsky District Court on October 21.

"A resident of Akademgorodok was accused of committing sexual acts against a person under the age of fourteen, using the victim's helpless state," the report said.

It was established that from May to December 2023, while working as a teacher at a school, he raped a student who was not 14 years old at that time. In total, the man was charged with five episodes. He is also charged with illegal possession of explosives. Weapons and about half a kilogram of gunpowder were found at the defendant's home. He didn't have any permits.

The court found him guilty on all counts of committing sexual crimes against a minor using her helpless condition, as well as illegal possession of explosives.
