The Israel Defense Forces (IDF), against the background of the cease-fire in the Gaza Strip, is changing the system of conscription of reservists, which operated throughout the conflict. This was reported on October 21 by The Times of Israel (TOI) newspaper.

The IDF Personnel Department has issued new guidelines for the recruitment of reservists, among whom recruitment through advertising on social media is now prohibited.

"The new guidelines state that the recruitment of reservists is allowed only through the official military website. This step is intended to put an end to the transfer of reservists from one unit to another," the publication says.

Another practice that will be discontinued under the new guidelines is the so—called hybrid service, where reservists serve while continuing to perform tasks in a civilian workplace.

It is specified that Israel has spent about $67 billion on the conflict in the Gaza Strip, of which about $ 21.2 billion was spent on financing the mobilization of reservists.

On October 13, US President Donald Trump announced the end of the war in the Gaza Strip and the release of Israeli hostages by the Hamas movement. According to him, representatives of the Palestinian movement will implement the disarmament plan. Later, at the Sharm el-Sheikh summit, representatives of Egypt, the United States, Qatar and Turkey signed an agreement to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip.

On October 19, the Israel Defense Forces announced that it was launching a series of strikes against Hamas targets in the southern Gaza Strip in response to the movement's violation of the truce. According to the army press service, on the same day, the Palestinians fired an anti-tank rocket and opened fire on Israeli army troops, thereby grossly violating the ceasefire.

Later, the IDF resumed observing the ceasefire in the sector. On October 20, the American leader confirmed that the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas remains in force.
