Moscow court bans sale of bison and wolves
The Tverskoy Court of Moscow granted the appeal of the prosecutor's office and banned resources for the sale of caiman turtles, wolves and bison. This is stated in the case file, which was reviewed by Izvestia on October 22.
"It has been established that these sites contain information about the sale of pink flamingos, caiman turtles, lynxes, wolves, and bison. Sellers have provided information about the price," the resolution says.
Despite the fact that the sites are presented in Russian and there is no possibility of changing the language, the target audience is the Russian-speaking population. Now it is allowed to keep such animals only in zoos, circuses or zoo gardens.
Earlier, on September 23, the Moscow court granted the prosecutor's office's claim and blocked websites selling a rare clam, the common pearl oyster. The court clarified that the materials on the blocked resources encouraged people to purchase illegal animals. The dissemination of such information contradicts the objectives of the legislation on wildlife and hinders the provision of biological diversity.
