On October 21, Pavel Durov, the creator of the Telegram messenger, announced his desire to purchase precious items stolen from the Louvre and transfer them to Abu Dhabi.

"I will gladly buy the stolen jewels and return them to the Louvre. I mean the Louvre Abu Dhabi, of course. No one steals from the Louvre Abu Dhabi," he wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

Earlier, on October 19, French Culture Minister Rachida Dati reported a robbery that took place on Sunday morning at the Louvre. According to Le Parisien, several intruders broke windows in the main Paris museum and stole jewelry.

On the same day, Le Parisien reported that the broken crown of Emperor Napoleon III's wife Eugenie was found near the Louvre after a robbery. According to French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez, the robbery "lasted seven minutes."

Later, on October 19, the French police discovered the items used by the intruders during the Louvre robbery. It was clarified that two grinders, a gas burner, a container of gasoline, gloves, a walkie-talkie and a blanket were found at the crime scene.

The Reuters news agency reported on October 20 that the French authorities plan to review measures to protect cultural sites across the country and, if necessary, strengthen security measures after the theft of jewelry in the Louvre.
