Daily 10-minute workouts and three one-hour gym sessions have different benefits depending on the goals you set. Akulina Bakhturina, senior coach of the LEVITA international network of ballet and stretching studios, told Izvestia about this on October 21.
"Short regular sessions are ideal for forming a stable habit and combating the effects of a sedentary lifestyle, while long-term workouts are necessary to achieve noticeable changes in body shape and muscle growth," she pointed out.
As the specialist explained, daily short workouts are easily integrated into a busy schedule and help maintain muscle tone, joint mobility, and also prevent neck and lower back pain. This format is especially useful for office workers, beginners, and those who return to activity after a break.
At the same time, the overall amount of physical activity is important for the health of the cardiovascular system, not its distribution throughout the day.
Intensive hour-long workouts allow you to work out the body comprehensively, combining cardio, strength exercises and stretching. This approach triggers anabolic processes, promotes muscle growth and gives a faster visual effect. Bakhturina recommends this format to athletes and advanced amateurs working on technique and striving for specific results in strength, relief or weight loss.
To achieve maximum wellness and visual effect, the expert advises combining both approaches. On weekdays, you can practice 10-minute activity breaks, and do full-fledged workouts 2-3 times a week in the gym.
"Such a balanced regime allows you to improve your figure and health indicators without the risk of overload and injury, ensuring the harmonious development of the body and sustained motivation," concluded the coach.
