Eleven Media: Myanmar troops recaptured a rogue call center
Myanmar government forces have established control over the KK Park call center, located in the border area with Thailand. Foreigners worked in this center, including Russian citizens, some of whom had previously been released. This is reported by the Eleven Media portal.
"During the attack, Tatmado troops also occupied and cleared the infamous KK Park near the Myanmar—Thailand border," the portal reports.
The operation by government forces that led to the capture of the call center also included the return of two military bases lost in 2024 to the rebels in Karen State. During the fighting in the KK Park area, six major and 52 local clashes with the rebels were recorded. After mopping up the territory, ten dead people, 16 barrels of weapons with ammunition and 30 Starlink receivers were found in the call center.
There were 2,198 people inside the call center buildings, including 1,645 men, 455 women and 98 security guards. During the inspection of the territory, seven medical institutions were also found, as well as warehouse and retail facilities, residential and administrative buildings.
In addition, there was a complete lack of documentation, including legal building permits and documents confirming ownership of the land. Russian diplomats do not rule out that Russian citizens may be among the call center's employees, but there is no information about their future fate yet.
On October 13, Ilya Ilyin, head of the consular department of the Russian Embassy in Thailand, announced the detention of several Russians in a fraudulent call center on the border of Myanmar and Thailand. He said that the organizers of call centers lure Russians into slavery by offering them a career as models or advertising agents. Most of the time, victims do not realize that they are already in Myanmar, as their phones are being taken away and information about their location is being hidden.
