On October 20, the head coach of the Norwegian men's national team, Eric Muir Nossum, announced the possibility of Norwegian skiers boycotting international tournaments if Russian athletes were allowed in.

"We shouldn't compete with them. Nothing has changed since they were suspended. My opinion is unequivocal — they should not be returned," the Nettavisen newspaper quotes Nossum as saying.

According to him, the boycott is an effective measure, since the Russian side allegedly uses sports as a propaganda tool.

The leadership of the International Ski Federation (FIS) on Tuesday, October 21, will consider the issue of admission of Russian athletes to the Olympic Games. At the moment, Russia and Belarus remain banned from ski starts from 2022.

Norwegian skier Johannes Klebo announced on October 11 that the return of Russian representatives to international tournaments would be good for the whole sport. In addition, the skier noted that the return of the Russians would make international tournaments tougher and more interesting.
