Kramnik reported on Naroditsky's long-standing health problems.
Daniel Naroditsky, a deceased American grandmaster, commentator and educator, had long had health problems. This was announced on October 21 by Russian chess player Vladimir Kramnik.
"The price has been paid too high, but if I was the only person who shouted about Daniel's obvious long-term problems, which were becoming alarming and requiring urgent action from others," he said in a message on X (ex. Twitter).
On October 20, the press service of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) announced Naroditsky's death. The federation emphasized that the American was a talented chess player, commentator and teacher. He represented the United States at the World Team Championships in 2015 and took first place at the National Masters Championships in 2019.
