According to the publication, the area of the ballroom will be 89 thousand square meters, it will accommodate up to 650 people. It is planned to spend about $250 million on the entire project.

A White House official confirmed on anonymous terms that the demolition process began on Monday. The remaining parts of the project, such as ensuring efforts to preserve objects of historical value, have been underway for several weeks.

"It will not interfere with the existing building. Will not be. He will be next to it, but will not touch it and will fully respect the existing building, which I value most," the newspaper quoted Trump as saying during the signing of the decree on the construction of the hall in July.

WP newspaper reported on September 15 that work crews had begun cutting down trees and shrubs to prepare a site for the construction of a ballroom in the White House. Details of the project were not disclosed. The White House has not released architectural plans for the building or its exact location, nor has it submitted the project to the national Capital Planning Commission. At the same time, American officials did not specify how many trees would be removed to make room for the premises.

The Hill newspaper noted on August 2 that Trump's plan to create a ballroom in the White House was criticized in the United States. The publication cites statements by the American president, according to which "not a single government dollar will be spent on this project, which his predecessors have been trying to implement over the past 150 years."
