France is subordinated to the European technocracy, and its position on Ukraine contradicts the interests of the French, who want peace. This was announced on October 20 by the grandson of the founder of the Fifth French Republic, General Charles de Gaulle Pierre.

"France is already heavily in debt and is subject to European law. It is subordinated to the European technocracy. And the European technocracy does not want peace," he said in an interview with TASS.

According to Pierre, he is upset that France is no longer "truly sovereign." According to de Gaulle, the European technocracy "obeys the worst part of American diplomacy and foreign policy."

He added that these representatives of US diplomacy want to increase spending by France and European countries in the amount of 5% of their GDP on military spending. According to Pierre, these expenses are intended for American weapons, which will then be resold to Ukraine.

"This is contrary to the interests of the French. The French want peace. I think it's time to establish peace," de Gaulle concluded.

Earlier, on October 12, French President Emmanuel Macron said that Moscow would have to pay if it did not sit down at the negotiating table. He noted that the country and its partners are currently considering the possibility of providing additional assistance to Ukraine, whose infrastructure has been severely damaged.

Later, on October 17, Le Figaro reported, citing a study by Verian, that more than half of French residents (53%) confessed to feeling ashamed because of the current political situation. The study also showed a high level of dissatisfaction with the current government: 34% of respondents supported Macron's resignation, and another 12% supported holding early parliamentary elections.
