The Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation signed cooperation agreements with the Prosecutor General's Office of Tajikistan

During his first working visit, Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Alexander Gutsan signed cooperation agreements with the Prosecutor General's Office of Tajikistan. This was announced on October 20 by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation.

"Gutsan expressed confidence that the professional cooperation of the supervisory authorities makes a significant contribution to ensuring legal stability and deepening the strategic partnership and alliance between Russia and Tajikistan. <...> The Russian Prosecutor General noted that today's meeting continues a long—standing constructive dialogue and unites efforts in countering transnational crime and other dangerous modern challenges," the agency's website says.

Two cooperation agreements were signed during the bilateral meeting of the State Attorneys General. One document provides for the development of the most effective way to interact on issues of mutual interest. The purpose of the document is to achieve practical results in the field of combating crime, protecting human rights and freedoms, the statement says. The second agreement is devoted to the issues of cooperation between military prosecutor's offices.

Earlier, on October 8, Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Tajikistan on a state visit. During the ceremony of exchanging signed documents on October 9, he called the relations between Moscow and Dushanbe friendly and allied. During the meeting, the sides discussed the bilateral agenda in the fields of economy, security, politics, trade, culture, as well as the international situation. In addition, on October 10, Putin called Tajikistan an important partner for Russia.
