The United States intends to strengthen control over the observance of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. This was announced on October 20 by the Axios portal.

"The administration of [US President Donald] Trump will significantly strengthen his control over the implementation of the Gas peace agreement to ensure that it does not fall apart," the publication says.

According to the portal, the situation in Gaza continues to be "precarious," so only strict control will preserve the "fragile peace."

As the US representative noted, the next 30 days after the conclusion of the agreement "will be crucial." He added that now the United States is responsible for everything that happens in Gaza in terms of the implementation of the agreement, and it is the United States that will make the decisions.

It is clarified that the American administration expected incidents to occur after the conclusion of the agreement.

The article also emphasizes that allowing Israel and the radical Palestinian movement Hamas to attack each other will only lead to an increase in precedents between them.

On October 13, Trump announced the end of the war in the Gaza Strip and the release of Israeli hostages by the Hamas movement. According to him, representatives of the Palestinian movement will implement the disarmament plan. Later, at the Sharm el-Sheikh summit, representatives of Egypt, the United States, Qatar and Turkey signed an agreement to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip.

On October 19, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that it was launching a series of strikes against Hamas targets in the southern Gaza Strip in response to the movement's violation of the truce. According to the army press service, on the same day, the Palestinians fired an anti-tank rocket and opened fire on Israeli army troops, thereby grossly violating the ceasefire.

Later, the IDF resumed observing the ceasefire in the sector.

On October 20, the American leader confirmed that the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas remains in force. At the same time, he noted that Hamas was behaving "quite violently," but added that the group's leadership was not involved in this.
