- The State Duma will consider a draft on tougher penalties for sabotage as a matter of priority
The State Duma will consider a bill to toughen penalties for sabotage as a matter of priority. The relevant information was posted on October 20 on the website of the lower house of the Parliament of the Russian Federation.
"We will consider the bill as a matter of priority," said Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma.
Volodin explained that the project is aimed at ensuring the safety of citizens and the state in a special military operation. He also noted that the deputies of all factions became co-authors of the bill, which indicates a unified approach to the need to strengthen the protection of the country.
Earlier that day, Deputy Speaker of the House of Parliament Irina Yarovaya announced that a draft law would be submitted to the State Duma on the establishment of penalties up to life imprisonment for involving children in subversive communities. It is also proposed to abolish the statute of limitations for crimes of a similar nature.
Alexander Bortnikov, Director of the FSB of Russia, Chairman of the Council of Heads of Security Agencies and Special Services of the CIS Member States (SORB), announced on October 16 that more than 120 call centers are operating in Ukraine that involve teenagers and pensioners in terrorist activities.
It was clarified that they are supervised by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and information and psychological operations units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
