Car sales in Russia increased for the first time in 39 weeks

During the 42nd week of 2025, from October 13 to October 19, 34,030 new passenger cars were sold in Russia. This is 6% more than in the same week last year, the analytical agency Autostat reported on October 20.

For the first time in the past 39 weeks, the Russian car market has shown positive dynamics, analysts say. Prior to that, the market was going up by 2024 in the 3rd week (+13%).

Autostat drew attention to the fact that for the fourth week in a row, sales of new passenger cars have exceeded 30 thousand units. In the 40th week, a record of the year was set — 41.3 thousand units.

Lada cars with a 20% share, which is 6,883 units sold, became the most popular in the 42nd week. Next are the Chinese brands Haval and Geely — 5,372 and 2,787 units. accordingly. The Belarusian Belgee is in fourth place (2,010 units), and the domestic brand Tenet closes the top five (1,760 units).

Earlier it became known that demand for new Chinese cars in Russia increased by 34.1% in the third quarter of this year compared to the first quarter. This was reported on October 10 by Avito Auto experts, who collected data on the number of phone views of sellers and chats in each ad on the platform.

The cars of the SWM, Li Auto, Jetour, Hongqi and Voyah brands became the most popular among users during this period. Among the models, the SWM G05 Pro, Jetour X70 Plus, Haval M6, Jetour Dashing and Haval Jolion were in the highest demand.
