In Moscow, the opening of the largest international dancesport tournament, the Russian Open DanceSport, brought together more than 3,000 dancers, including representatives from Europe and Asia, as well as judges from the United Kingdom and the United States.

On the stage where Hollywood classics and Soviet cinematography met, the dancers demonstrated not only professional skills, but also artistry, embodying the images of iconic characters. One of the first stages for the Russian participants was the national championship in the original sequay dance, which turned out to be a real show.

"This is not just a competition — a theater on a parquet floor. Each composition is like a performance. The task of the dancers is not only to impress with the complexity of the elements and impeccable technique. In four minutes, they have to live the story of their heroes and make us believe in it," said correspondent Anna Nichugovskaya.

The judges evaluate the technique of performance, the interaction of partners, musicality and choreography. Elvira Lapteva and Artem Goryunov, who performed a number about Mexican artists Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, became the winners of the audience vote.

"She is a very diverse character, she has all the colors like in her paintings," the dancers shared.

In addition, performances in the style of Charlie Chaplin, as well as other bright compositions, were presented on the stage. Alisa Busurova and Pavel Zakharenko emphasized that dancers can combine elements of different styles in the broadway: "Here we have complete freedom, we can be anyone on the floor."

The Russian Open DanceSport tournament, taking place in Moscow, has become the beginning of a large program, within which national and international competitions are expected.

"We are holding 31 competitions. All—Russian competitions and international tournaments, including the World Cup, are waiting for us in the next few days," said Nadezhda Erastova, President of the All-Russian Dance Sports Federation.

Over the course of eight days, more than 4,500 athletes will show their skills, and the tournament will become one of the largest events in the world of dance sports.

On September 15, the Crimean Opera Ball was held on the picturesque square of the Massandra Winemaking Center. He combined the world's masterpieces of opera and ballet, and more than a hundred couples danced, creating the atmosphere of another era. This is one of the most aesthetic and at the same time the brightest events of the year. Ballet soloists and opera stars are on stage.
