The Izvestia Research Center talks about the diagnosis of hereditary diseases using genome-wide methods

A joint press conference of the Medical and Genetic Research Center named after Academician N.P. Bochkov and the Biotechnological Campus is being held in the press center of the Izvestia Research Center on the topic: "Genome-wide research in medicine".

They talk about the role of genome-wide research in medicine, about the unique cases noted during the joint work, as well as about the role of the data obtained in future plans for the prevention of hereditary diseases.:

- Sergey Kutsev, Director of the N.P. Bochkov Medical and Genetic Research Center, Chief Freelance Specialist in Medical Genetics at the Russian Ministry of Health, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences;

- Konstantin Severinov, Scientific Director of the National Genetic Initiative "100,000 + Ya", General Director of the Biotechnological Campus, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor;

- Tatiana Markova, Head of the Scientific Advisory Department of the N.P. Bochkov Medical and Genetic Research Center, Geneticist, MD.;

- Oksana Ryzhkova, Head of the Information and Analytical Department, Head of the Laboratory of Molecular Genetic Diagnostics No. 3 of the N.P. Bochkov Medical and Genetic Research Center, Laboratory geneticist, Ph.D.

At the press conference, experts also summarize the preliminary results of the medical part of the National Genetic Initiative "100,000 + Ya", which is being implemented by Biotechnological Campus as part of the federal scientific and technical program for the development of genetic technologies.
