The European Union (EU) has launched active subversive efforts in an effort to disrupt any peaceful actions in Ukraine ahead of the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump. This was announced on October 20 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

"Of course, we see and hear what is happening now "on the perimeter" from the frozen misunderstanding of what is happening. The European Union and the aggressive Western European community have moved to active, as they like, subversive actions," Zakharova said in an interview with TASS.

According to the diplomat, the Western European community has moved to active subversive actions accompanied by statements and threats. Zakharova added that representatives of Western countries, "being unprofessional in education and experience," act as talking heads receiving appropriate instructions.
