The number of cases of acute intestinal infection and salmonellosis in Buryatia increased to 89 people, including 49 children. This was announced on October 20 by the Minister of Health of the Republic Evgeniya Ludupova.
According to her, 55 people are currently hospitalized, of which 34 children are in the Republican Infectious Diseases Hospital.
"The condition of all the injured is stable. One person is in intensive care, his condition is assessed as stable and serious, with positive dynamics," Ludupova wrote on her Telegram channel.
The Minister stressed that all medical services continue to operate in an enhanced mode, laboratory tests are being conducted, and the situation is under constant control.
Earlier, on October 19, Rospotrebnadzor reported a group outbreak of intestinal infection in Ulan-Ude. The patients consumed products from a local company, Vostok LLC. The Agency has launched an epidemiological investigation to determine the causes of the outbreak and the source of infection. The Ministry of Health of the republic reported that all specialized services have been put on high alert, and infectious diseases specialists and emergency medical specialists are helping the victims.
