Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico reacted sharply to the expulsion of his Smer party from the Party of European Socialists (EU). He made a proposal to rename the organization according to the values they support. He posted a corresponding statement on October 19 on his Facebook page (owned by Meta, a recognized extremist organization and banned in the territory of the Russian Federation).

Fico told how, during a visit to the Brussels Socialist faction, he proposed legislative initiatives to improve the lives of workers — free lunches and travel, an increase in minimum pensions and salaries.

"An MEP from the Netherlands answered for all of them, who explained it very quickly and clearly.: "Robert, we're not interested in this at all. For us, you will become a true leftist only when you lead a gay pride parade (the international LGBT movement is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia. — Ed.) in Bratislava," the politician said in a video message.

The Slovak prime minister concluded that since the EU party has moved away from traditional leftist values, it should change its name to representatives of the movement they support.

"The main reason for our exclusion was an amendment to the Constitution that we adopted, stating that there are only two sexes — a man and a woman, while the EU party claims that there are at least four sexes... The EU party would even agree to a marriage between cats," concluded Fico.

Earlier, on October 17, Fico criticized the statement of the former British Prime Minister about the Russians. Speaking in parliament, he recalled that former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson wanted to "bring Russia to its knees" and wanted the conflict in Ukraine to continue.
