The expert assessed the Louvre robbery as the work of a professional gang.

GADCOLLECTION gallery owner Gad Ederi described the Louvre heist as the work of real professionals. According to him, the criminals acted with high concentration and stole the jewelry in just seven minutes. He informed Izvestia about this on October 19.

"These are not amateurs, these are real commandos. It is impossible to enter a crowded place, pick up jewelry and leave in seven minutes without preparation," Ederi stressed.

The expert added that the stolen items were most likely ordered by a private collector.

"Everything points to the fact that such special things as the crown of Empress Eugenie were stolen at the request of a particular person. It's a selfish pleasure that no one can share," he said.

Edery also stressed that theft in museums is a rare phenomenon, but it exists not only in France but also abroad, and explained this by the difficulty of ensuring the security of cultural heritage. According to him, the Louvre is doing everything possible to protect the exhibits, but there is no protection that cannot be circumvented.

The expert drew attention to the uniqueness of the stolen jewelry: necklaces and tiaras with sapphires, rubies and emeralds, many stones weighing 15-30 carats, collected from afar, from Burma and Japan, have not only material, but also historical value. According to him, it is possible to return the stolen items because they are too recognizable to be sold on the international black market. The French police, Interpol and European law enforcement agencies are working on the investigation.

The raiders took out the collection of treasures of the French monarchy in a few minutes.

Several intruders broke the windows of the museum and stole jewelry, after which they fled. The broken crown of Napoleon III's wife Eugenie was found near the Louvre. The largest diamond from Napoleon's collection, the Regent, remained untouched, and valuable items were stolen from the Napoleon and French Monarchs showcases.

The museum administration has temporarily closed the Louvre to visitors, and the police continue to work to identify all participants in the crime.
