Fetisov appreciated his work in the State Duma and the benefits for the country.
Vyacheslav Fetisov, a two-time Olympic hockey champion and State Duma deputy, praised his success in politics. According to him, he has done a lot of useful things for the country, they reported on October 19.
"I am a recognizable, popular and respected person among my colleagues. For me, the most important thing is the attitude of people, because I don't sit and just take a seat, but work," Fetisov said in an interview with Sport24.
He noted that he personally launched a school sports league in his constituency.
"In Podolsk, with full stands, they launched this project, thanking the leadership and the governor of the Moscow region. This is the formation of a new sports culture, when there will be school—to-school and class-to-class competitions," the deputy emphasized.
Earlier, on August 16, Fetisov spoke out against the athletes who left the country, noting that the participation of Russian athletes in international competitions without a flag and anthem looks humiliating. In his opinion, such a situation is "disgusting" and does not meet the interests of the country.
