Israel informed the United States in advance of its intention to strike targets of the Palestinian Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip. This was reported on October 19 by Axios journalist Barak Ravid, citing American and Israeli officials.

"Israel notified the administration of [President of the United States Donald] in advance Trump about the strikes in the Gaza Strip through the US command center, which controls the ceasefire," he wrote on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

Earlier in the day, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that it had launched a series of strikes against targets of the Palestinian Hamas movement in the southern Gaza Strip in response to the movement's violation of the truce. According to the army press service, on October 19, the Palestinians fired an anti-tank rocket and opened fire on Israeli army troops, thereby grossly violating the ceasefire.

On October 13, US President Donald Trump announced the end of the war in the Gaza Strip and the release of Israeli hostages by the Hamas movement. According to him, representatives of the Palestinian movement will implement the disarmament plan. Later, at the Sharm el-Sheikh summit, representatives of Egypt, the United States, Qatar and Turkey signed an agreement to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip.
