Russian mixed martial artist Alexander Emelianenko was in a medical facility for several days. This was announced on October 19 by the fighter's manager, Vakha Shankhoev.

"This is neurology. I did the procedures," Shankhoev shared in an interview with TASS.

It is noted that prior to this, the athlete underwent spinal surgery. Then Emelianenko clarified that he had lost the ability to walk due to deteriorating health.

Last December, Alexander Emelianenko resumed his career and signed a contract with the National Fighting League (NFL).

Emelianenko is a mixed martial artist who also performs in pop MMA and professional boxing. He is a multiple champion of Russia and the world in combat sambo, and the European champion in combat sambo. His brothers Ivan and Fedor are also MMA fighters.
