The number of people poisoned in Ulan-Ude has increased to 49

The number of victims of poisoning in Ulan-Ude increased to 49, of which 40 people were hospitalized. This was announced on October 19 by the Minister of Health of Buryatia Evgeniya Ludupova.

"49 cases have been registered, including 11 laboratory-confirmed cases of salmonellosis. 40 patients were hospitalized, 22 of them children, one person in intensive care in stable serious condition," she wrote on her Telegram channel.

The hospitalization of residents of Ulan-Ude in the Republic of Buryatia was reported earlier that day. According to the head of the Ministry of Health of the republic, Evgeny Ludupov, 43 people suffered from acute intestinal infection. He noted that currently 36 patients have been hospitalized, 21 of them are children from seven to 15 years old.

The Ministry of Health noted that onigiri and shawarma could be the cause of mass poisoning of people. In turn, the investigators opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
