A serviceman of the Russian Army's Center group of forces, a sniper with the call sign Granit, covered his son with the call sign Manul from a drone attack during the Kurakhov sweep. Manul himself spoke about the decisive actions of the parent on Sunday, October 19.

"Father was moving behind. I, as a sniper, moved with an SVD rifle, and my father, as the second number, moved with a Kalashnikov. It turns out that an FPV drone was flying in our direction. Apparently, they burned down that I was walking in with a rifle. My father destroyed it," RIA Novosti quoted the fighter as saying.
