In the dormitory of the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) in Vladivostok, students caused an accident with a ceiling collapse by forgetting the cauldron on the stove while cooking. This was reported to Izvestia on October 19 by the university's press service.

"The student was cooking rice and forgot the Afghan cauldron (pressure cooker) in the kitchen. The blown-out lid damaged the suspended ceiling. No one was injured," the FEFU said.

It is noted that the impact was so strong that even fire detectors fell out in neighboring rooms.

According to one of the students, students from India often use pressure cookers and sometimes leave them unattended.

It is reported that the restoration work will begin in the near future. The amount of damage to the hostel's property is being determined.

Earlier, on September 23, the State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted in the first reading a bill obliging universities to allocate separate rooms in dormitories for students' families. It is noted that the initiative is intended for those students of educational institutions who are married or who have children.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
