Engineers of the Vostok group told about the abandoned booby traps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

While liberating new territories, the military personnel of the Vostok group of forces discover many booby traps that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) leave behind during their retreat. This was announced on October 19 by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

It is specified that mines and improvised devices are often hidden in the most unexpected places — under firewood, in toys, in household items. Such traps pose a danger not only to assault units, but also to civilians remaining in populated areas.

"They mine completely, and it is forbidden to touch anything at all. <...> When the cold weather sets in, they start heating the stoves. Accordingly, they [the logs] are completely mined. <...> When you put it down, an explosion does not occur immediately. Accordingly, at first everything is heated, everything is fine, and then, when the personnel are already nearby, it warms up, an explosion occurs," said the commander of an engineering platoon with the call sign Knut.

According to him, even the bodies of dead soldiers are being mined.

However, the engineering units possess all the skills of mine clearance, which makes it possible to protect not only the Russian Army (RF Armed Forces), but also civilians. Such exercises also help to clear the liberated territories of mines and explosive devices faster.

Earlier, on October 17, soldiers of the 55th Separate Guards Motorized Rifle brigade (mountain) of the Center group of forces told the details of the liberation of the settlement of Novopavlovka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) in the Red Army area of the special military operation. The Defense Ministry added that the Ukrainian military attempted to hold the settlement, but their actions were disorganized. After securing their positions in Novopavlovka, our soldiers carried out engineering barriers, blocked the possible approach routes of the reserves and thwarted attempts at counter-offensives.
