Two thirds (66%) of German residents opposed the continuation of receiving civil benefits (Burgergeld) for Ukrainian refugees. This was reported on October 18 by the Bild newspaper with reference to an INSA institute opinion poll.

Only 17% of the participants support continued payments. Also, 62% of respondents indicated that Ukrainian men who are fit for military service, who entered the country after the outbreak of the conflict, should leave Germany.

It is noted that the opinion of 1003 people was surveyed in the study.

On October 14, Marcin Przydacz, head of the Bureau of International Policy of the Office of the President of the country, said that Poland could not accept an unlimited number of Ukrainian refugees. He noted that the integration of migrants should take place through education and their active involvement in Polish culture. Przydacz also added that Poland cannot allow the creation of isolated areas for refugees.
