Rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations evacuated the body of the dead tourist from Elbrus

The search operation on Elbrus has been completed, the body of the deceased climber has been taken to the Azau clearing and handed over to the investigative task force, the Main Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for Kabardino-Balkaria reported on October 18.

Employees of the Elbrus high-altitude search and rescue team, consisting of four people and two pieces of equipment, participated in the rescue operations.

"The search work has been completed. The body was evacuated and handed over to law enforcement agencies," the ministry said.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations called on residents and guests of the republic to exercise maximum caution when climbing and strictly observe safety measures on tourist routes.
