- The Turkish Foreign Ministry announced the country's intention to contribute to the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine.
Turkey is ready to continue contributing to the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. This was announced on October 18 by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
"Turkey can continue to make the necessary contribution to this cause [the conflict in Ukraine]. <...> I am ready to do my part at the leadership level," Fidan said in an interview broadcast on the department's YouTube channel.
It is noted that during the three rounds of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, important issues were discussed, including the exchange of prisoners and disagreements on the settlement of the conflict.
According to Fidan, after each round of negotiations, both sides allegedly prepare for "worst-case scenarios" and escalation of the conflict.
The Turkish Foreign Minister noted the importance of each stage of the negotiations.
"It was important that they sat down at the same table and acknowledged, 'Yes, we are inside this dynamic, but we are also looking for peace.' These three rounds of negotiations have really played a huge role," Fidan stressed.
Earlier in the day, the head of the French Patriots party, Florian Philippot, said that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky would have to negotiate with Russia to resolve the conflict. According to the politician, during a meeting with journalists at a press conference, the leader of the Kiev regime stammered in every possible way and looked "stunned" after talks with US President Donald Trump.
It was also noted in the American media that Russia could achieve victory in the conflict in Ukraine in the coming weeks.
Trump's meeting with Zelensky took place at the White House on October 17. The American leader expressed hope for the end of the conflict in Ukraine without the transfer of Tomahawk. At the same time, Zelensky noted that he was ready for bilateral and trilateral negotiations to end the conflict.
