Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has confirmed his intention to run in the next parliamentary elections in 2026. This was reported on October 18 by the APF news agency.

Thus, if Netanyahu wins the election, it will be his sixth separate term as Prime Minister of Israel.
Earlier, on October 13, US President Donald Trump announced the end of the war in the Gaza Strip and the release of Israeli hostages by the Hamas movement. According to him, representatives of the Palestinian movement will implement the disarmament plan.
Later, at the Sharm el-Sheikh summit, representatives of Egypt, the United States, Qatar and Turkey signed an agreement to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip. According to Trump, this Gas deal is "the largest and most complex." He also added that the third world war in the Middle East will not start because no one wants it.
On October 16, Netanyahu said that Israel would continue to fight the Palestinian Hamas movement until it was eliminated. Netanyahu promised that Israel would return the remaining hostages and achieve "all the goals of the war," which include the destruction of Hamas.
