An earthquake of magnitude 5.1 was registered in Kamchatka. This was announced on October 18 at the Kamchatka branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

It is specified that the earthquake occurred 226 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, and its epicenter lay at a depth of 39.8 km.

Earlier, on October 11, an earthquake of magnitude 5.8 was recorded in the Kamchatka Territory.

A day earlier, the Main Directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kamchatka Territory reported that seven aftershocks of magnitude from 4.5 to 5.8 had been recorded in the region over the past day. It was clarified that aftershocks had been felt twice in populated areas.
